Rules of the Combative Martial Arts AcademyNOTICE: The following rules and regulations are meant to be followed exactly as stated with no exceptions. Please read them carefully. Breaking of these rules and regulations is grounds for termination of your membership. Each member academy will also have it's own set of rules and regulations, but these rules are meant to be obeyed by all members. See your Instructor if you are in doubt as to what the rules of your school are. 1. All members will be expected to maintain a clean, neat appearance. Personal hygiene should be greatly emphasized. No one likes to train with a human stink bomb. Use deodorant, please. Remember, when you come to a class, seminar or training camp you are representing your academy, your Instructor, and the memory of Bruce Lee. Be clean, respectful and respectable. 2. All members will be expected to join the World Combative Martial Arts Federation within a month of joining the Academy. All members will be expected to renew their memberships without having to be notified to do so. Look at your membership card every now and then so that you keep up with your renewal date. If you fail to renew, you will not receive any further newsletters or special offers. You should be interested enough in the organization to keep up with this on your own. 3. All members are expected to maintain good personal health habits. Smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages is not good for you in any way. These things will definitely hinder your fitness training, and probably lead to other health problems. Use of illegal drugs will not be tolerated at all. Any member found to be using drugs of a non-prescription, illegal nature will have their membership terminated immediately. 4. You may discuss our art and our organization with martial artists from other systems, but do not say that we are better than them or do anything to create ill feelings between us and them. Let your skill and knowledge speak for you. Remember, you have to respect the path of your fellow martial artist. You have chosen your path and they have chosen theirs. How can you expect them to respect you if you don't have respect for them. 5. Always show respect at all times for your instructor(s). They have worked hard to get where they are and they have earned your respect. When your instructor is teaching, give him/her your undivided attention. When your instructor is speaking, theirs should be the only voice heard in the room. Not paying attention often leads to someone getting hurt. 6. Always observe the "partner preservation" rule when training. You can still train realistically and learn the art without damaging your partner. Accidents happen, but by simply being aware of this rule most of them can be avoided. 7. As an active member of the World Combative Martial Arts Federation, your loyalty is expected. Any member found to be copying Sifu Davis' instructional videotapes and selling or distributing them to others will be dismissed. Any member found to be making and selling or giving copies of the Combative Martial Arts Academy Membership Manual or the Instructor/Instructor Trainee Manual will be dismissed immediately. Once your membership is terminated in this manner, you will never again be allowed to train in a WCMAF sponsored/sanctioned events. The rights to the instructional videotapes and the Student/Instructor Manual belong to Sifu Lamar M. Davis II. Whether or not legal action will be taken against the offender is at Sifu Davis' discretion. 8. As a member of the World Combative Martial Arts Federation, you will be expected to do your part to keep the organization alive and growing. Inactive members do an organization no good. Inactivity can lead to termination of membership. Just like a chain, an organization is only as strong as it's weakest link. Don't be that weak link! |
